You’ve got to dump the Head Trash

We all get those annoying little voices that pop into our heads, filling our brains with all the reasons to stop creating. They show up and seem to kill your motivation and drive, causing you to put your dreams on hold yet again.

Call it what you want, Head Trash, or the inner-critic troll, call it what you want; it’s preventing you from living your best life.

Motivational speaker Les Brown famously said, “The graveyard is the richest place on earth because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled.”

Head Trash is a Dream Killer

All those soles let their head trash stop them from achieving their goals and dreams, but you can change how you respond to this trash.

From an early age, I wanted to be an entrepreneur and work for myself. Yet, repeatedly, I allowed these self-serving trolls to crush my business dreams. I would get a business idea, and the head trash would enter the picture.

I would hear the whispers, Oh, that business will never work.

Before I knew it, I agreed and moved on to my next idea.

Over and over again, I let those whispers convince me I wasn’t good enough. How often do you think to yourself, “I can’t do itI don’t have the education, I need to know more before I take action?”

You are Not Alone

We all experience these self-doubt moments. I have spoken with many successful business leaders and entrepreneurs, and when asked, they will tell you they are not immune to the head trash. Everyone gets it. The difference is how we deal with them.

Start building on your momentum. Keep a success journal and record the three to five things that impacted your business or life today.

From the outside looking in, it might appear that the successful don’t have these issues, but we don’t realize that they have figured out how to sideline them. There is a simple way to overcome the obstacles head trash throws your way. Master this way of thinking, and you will change your trajectory.

The Simple Process

Here are the two steps to overcome your negative beliefs and stop the head trash once.

First, acknowledge it, think, or speak to yourself; I hear you. Thank you for pointing that out. Let me write that down. This action will significantly reduce its presence right now. Consider the head trash as an unwelcome coworker. They want to share their opinion, and once they feel heard, they quiet down.

Second, take action, even when your brain tells you to stop! Don’t stop believing in yourself; don’t stop working toward your goals. Every business idea, project, and goal you want to achieve has a next step. Find the next step and take it. Believing in yourself and taking action is the only way to power through these thoughts.

Please don’t take your hopes and dreams to the grave. Ideas are gifts; once you receive them, you owe it to mankind to flush them out and share them. Dump the head trash and make your goals a reality.
